The Independent Police Conduct Authority has completed its investigation into the Police response to the shooting of Manurewa liquor store owner Navtej Singh on 7 June 2008.
A report by the Authority’s on its findings will be publicly released after the trial of men accused of Mr Singh’s murder. That trial is scheduled to begin in February 2010 and is expected to last several weeks.
“The Authority has determined that it is appropriate to await the completion of Court proceedings before publicly releasing any of its findings,” said Authority Chair Justice Lowell Goddard.
Mr Singh’s family has been kept informed of progress throughout the Authority’s investigation.
