The Authority today released the results of its investigation on the serious bodily harm to four youths during a Police pursuit. The Authority found Police complied with the law and policy throughout the pursuit and the communication, especially in relation to risk, was excellent.

The Authority today released the results if its investigation into the death of Callan Moss following a Police pursuit. The Authroity found that Police not only considered all risk factors before commencing the pursuit but also fully complied with the law and Police policy during the pursuit.

The Authority today released the results of its independent investgation into the serious injury to Shane Legg following his arrest. The Authority found that while Police actions were reasonable and complied with the law in most respects, one officer failed to fulfil his duty of care to the person in his custody.

The Authority found that the actions of the fleeing driver, Mr Tonga, ultimately led to the death of Ms Stone-Te Haara. While officers failed to comply with Police policy in some areas, the Authority could not conclude that these failures and other actions contributed to Ms Stone-Te Haara’s death.
